Business Organizational Chart is a management tool wherein it
shows both management and workers the entire line structure of the
company. Although this is mostly intended for management, as it
shows the structure of the entire business. The main purpose of
using a typical organizational chart is to show the "power" thru
the use of lines and boxes. There are many types of organizational
charts that a specific kind of business can use. One sample
organzational chart is the "standard" or typical organizational
chart which have been used by many.
The typical organizational chart shows people the structure of
the company thru the use of lines and boxes. It reflects the power
structure of the company where the most powerful is at the top,
followed by the next-in line and so on and so forth. Those who are
at a level from one another are called peers while those who are
clustered below are called subordinates. This is pyramidical in
shape.
There are a lot of people who get confused with organizational
charts. But this is a reflection as to the actual confusion as to
what is happening in the organization. Sometimes, the organization
itself frequently changes, thus making it hard for the person in
charge to place it in diagrams.
There are two ways to use Business Organizational Charts. One is
to show the people their responsibilities are, as compared to the
rest of the employees. It can be as specific as telling who does
what and where. This is always reactive in nature. The second way
is to diagram a sample organizational chart to show the
organization where it is heading rather than show where it is now.
It doesn't always have to be horizontal grouping and vertical
lines, it would actually depend on the type of structure the
organization has. So if the organization relies on circles for the
team to accomplish their mission, then the organizational chart
should show how it really is.
There are many types of Business Organizational Charts that show
the power structure of the company. It does not always have to be
vertical lines and horizontal groupings. Do not push it as such, if
it really is not so. Think out of the box and make use of circles
and squares if that is really what you are using. Management has
always relied on typical organizational charts to show the present
scenario of the company and it will continue to do so.
